Overview
YouTube Shorts Remover is a Chrome extension that hides YouTube Shorts from your feed. This policy explains what data the extension does and doesn't handle.
What we don't collect
No personal information, no browsing or viewing history, no page content, no location data, and no analytics or tracking of any kind. The extension has no servers and makes no network requests — it cannot send data anywhere even if it wanted to.
What stays on your device
Two small preferences are saved locally with Chrome's storage API
and never leave your browser: whether the shorts-removal toggle is on, and whether
you've already seen this month's support reminder. Both are deleted automatically
when you uninstall the extension.
How the extension works
The extension runs only on youtube.com. It uses a content script to find Shorts elements in the page — by URL pattern, label text, and aspect ratio — and hides them with DOM manipulation. It does not read, analyze, or store any video content.
Permissions

The popup includes an optional "Buy Me a Coffee" link, and the extension shows at most one notification per month suggesting it. Clicking it opens coff.ee/rkgcode in a new tab — we don't track whether you click it, and support is entirely voluntary. That external page is governed by Buy Me a Coffee's own privacy policy.
GDPR & CCPA
Because no personal data is collected, transmitted, or sold, the extension has nothing to disclose, export, or delete on request beyond what you can already clear yourself — uninstalling the extension removes all locally stored data immediately.
Children's privacy
This extension is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone, regardless of age, since no data collection occurs at all.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date above will change with it. This page is the single, current source of truth — it supersedes any older copy of this policy published elsewhere.
